OUR HISTORY

The Tito Nordio Sailing School, created by Olympian Sergio Sorrentino in 1966 and named after the Trieste champion, was the first school recognised by the Italian Sailing Federation. Here, thousands of young people have discovered the fascination of sailing and experienced the thrill of an unforgettable holiday: 10 days in a true ‘College of the Sea’, where sport, adventure and friendship intertwine in a unique experience.

OUR FORMULA

At the Tito Nordio Sailing School, we teach not just how to sail, but how to grow. The educational approach, the fruit of years of experience and perfecting, is entrusted to a close-knit team made up of former students, professional sailors, expert trainers and motor education teachers. This mix of professionalism and passion guarantees students a complete experience combining sport and personal growth.

Imagine a place where the wind inflates the sails and the team spirit is strengthened with every manoeuvre. Our ‘College of the Sea’ is much more than a school: it is a temporary home where for 10 days each student learns, grows and has fun, immersed in a healthy and stimulating environment.

Theoretical lessons are immediately transformed into practice: at the helm of a sailing boat, every concept learnt in the classroom comes to life, turning into action and, for the most enthusiastic, even into racing tactics.

Agonism? It arises spontaneously! At the end of each course, the youngsters take part in a series of regattas, putting what they have learnt to the test. The best ones earn the right to compete in the prestigious Tito Nordio Sailing School Trophy, a celebration of their growth and passion for the sea.

Our values

Sport, friendship, fun and respect for the sea, for oneself and for others.

Safety

What we do on this front

During outings at sea, each student is constantly supervised by instructors who accompany the boats in support dinghies. Life jackets are compulsory for everyone from the moment they step on board, guaranteeing the highest level of protection and safety.

The support of the hostesses at times ashore (waking up, lunches, leisure and bedtime) ensures constant attention to the needs of the students, especially the youngest, and makes it possible to welcome children from 7 years of age in a safe and welcoming environment for all.
